About Us
Through a variety of philanthropic and social activities, the Captivating Kappa Chi Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. inspires its members and community to adopt important values such as leadership, empathy and ambition, and to always strive for excellence.
The Captivating Kappa Chi Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was founded on November 20, 1985 on the campus of Mississippi Valley State University, Itta Bena MS. The late Annie Brown and Debra Tate worked together to bring our chapter into existence so that the lovely ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho can better serve the Delta area.
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., was founded November 12, 1922 on the campus of Butler University, Indianapolis, IN. Seven young educators came together to found our illustrious organization during the of the great depression in the midst of racial tension. We, the ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho, serve to enhance the quality of life for women and their families in the U.S. and globally through community service, civil, and social action.
